MERIT Visions Speaker

MERIT

Scott and Katie Chastain, owners of the company Everfan, recently came to speak to MERIT students as the second VISIONS speaker about the importance of entrepreneurship. They shared a powerful message that failure is sometimes necessary, risk-taking can bring rewards, and they gave away some amazing superhero capes. Students participated by generating ideas for new products and then pitched their ideas to the Chastains. Eighth graders presented Mr. Thompson with his very own "Mr. T" superhero cape! VISIONS is a brand new MERIT program this year that brings visionary people into the school to share and interact with our MERIT students as they are working to create their own vision.

Pictured below are recipients of the superhero capes along with Scott and Katie Chastain. Pictured from left to right is Scott Chastain, Cameron Wilbourn, Owen Petrey, Principal Jamie Thompson, Cadence Allen, Carson Creech, and Katie Chastain.
