TCMS Salvation Army Can Drive

Yellow Jacket

Students at TCMS donated over 6,722 canned food items to the Salvation Army this Christmas. The TCMS Student Council sponsors this annual event. The top winners for each grade-level are:
5th grade: Mrs. Ryan's Homeroom (250 cans)
6th grade: Mr. Braswell's Homeroom (257 cans)
7th grade: Mrs. Simmons' Homeroom (365 cans)
8th grade: Mr. Wiggins' Homeroom (407 cans)

Top donating student school-wide: Jordan Bass (204 cans).

During the assembly, a dedication ceremony was also held to honor Earl & Faye Williams, who served many tireless years serving Thomas County Schools. The Thomas County Board of Education Administration Offices was officially renamed the Earl & Faye Williams Administrative Offices, to recognize and remember their hard work and dedication to Thomas County Schools. Mr. Williams started the Salvation Army canned food drive when he served as principal of the middle school. We wanted to honor Mr. Williams during a ceremony that meant so much to him.

During the 5th and 6th grade assembly, Sandra Maroney's name was drawn to win the TCMS Soccer gift basket - congratulations!
