Sixth-Graders Tour Atlanta

World of Coca-Cola

Thomas County Middle School students in sixth grade MERIT recently toured Atlanta. Their tour began with discovering how Coca-Cola has impacted Georgia and the world. The students enjoyed the World of Coca-Cola including visiting the Polar Bear mascot, seeing the secret vault with the only hand written copy of the recipe, and tasting flavors from around the world.

The next day students spent time at Stone Mountain Park. Their day began with a science lesson on simple machines and how those machines are used in the Skyride. Students rode to the top of Stone Mountain and enjoyed views of Atlanta's skyline. After a hike to the bottom, students learned more about simple machines while completing a ropes course.

The following day students toured the Breman Jewish Center. While there, they met and listened to second generation survivors of the Holocaust. After sharing their stories, the survivors and other docents toured students through the museum.
