Envision Credit Union recently awarded Amanda West, sixth-grade teacher at Thomas County Middle School, with a $500 classroom grant.  West was awarded the grant based on community impact. West is in charge of organizing service learning for TCMS MERIT students and coordinates activities where students are able to access volunteer opportunities within our community.  The award was actually given while West was volunteering through Hands on Thomas County and Second Harvest. 

West plans to use the money from the grant to help deter the cost of field trips as well as to obtain literacy resources, including novels and primary sources, for students to use in the classroom.
