The Thomas County Middle School High Techs Lego League Team competed on Saturday, January 27, 2020 at the Columbus State Super-Regional at Columbus State University. The team won best overall (Champions Award) and highest robot performance out of 32 teams. The team is advancing to compete at the Georgia 2020 State Championship hosted by Georgia Tech on February 1st.

The theme this year is City Shapers, where teams have to address a problem with a building or public space in their community. The High Techs chose to address the lack of equipment and activities for people with special needs at our local parks. These students developed an outdoor sensory wall in collaboration with multiple local experts, and are exploring ways to implement their solution.
