Mrs. Witcher's sixth-grade students have been practicing the difference between main idea and theme. Students were divided into groups where each set of partners were given task cards and had to read a short story to determine the theme from 4 choices. Students then recorded their answers on an answer document. They continued this activity by moving around the room to more stations until all were complete. Students seemed to enjoy this activity and worked very hard!
