The Thomasville Center for the Arts recently allowed Stacy Hayes' fifth-grade class to visit (virtually) with author, Carole Boston Weatherford, and her son/ illustrator, Jeffery. Weatherford spoke to students about how she decided to become an author, and specifically write about African Americans in history. Her son, Jeffrey, told of how he began drawing, and later teamed up with his mother to become an author/illustrator team.
