TCMS students won many awards in The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Junior American Citizens annual competition. There were forty-five winners from Thomas County Middle School for the Thomasville chapter. Nineteen of those winners took first place and advanced to state competition in January. This year’s theme was “The 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower: Rise and Shine for New Opportunities in a New World.” Students were able to compete in the following categories: poster, stamp design, photo essay, banner, poem, short story, or community service.
From the forty-five students who placed first in the local competition and moved on to state, the following nineteen TCMS students placed first in the state competition and moved on to the southeast district competition:
