On Saturday, December 3, 2022, sixty students from TCMS attended the GMEA District/All-State Honor Band Audition at Shiver School in Grady County. Seventeen middle schools consisting of 202 students from around District 2 participated in the competition. Of the 90 positions offered in the District Honor Band, 33 were filled by TCMS students. Seven TCMS students were selected as first chair for their section and eight students made the minimum passing score to advance to round 2 of the All-State Band competition.

Congratulations to those who made District Honor Band, and to every student who made improvements while preparing for this event. The District Honor Band Clinic will take place on February 10-11, 2023, at ABAC in Tifton. The second round audition for All-State will take place at Union Grove Middle School in McDonough, GA on January 7, 2023.
