Fifth-grade Upsilon Team recently had a guest speaker, Roddy Nixon, from Warner Robins, GA.   Nixon served 20 years in the United States Air Force, and an additional 22 years in Civil Service working for Robins Air Force Base where he has served as a meteorologist throughout his career.  

Nixon spoke to students about the importance of integrity, learning to problem-solve and work through conflicts, as well as experiences while stationed in different countries and during conflicts/wars.  During his presentation, students were engaged and excited to learn about his various accomplishments, especially his receiving of a presidential challenge coin.  His words of wisdom were very motivational and included a lot of thoughtful responses given by students throughout the presentation.
