Two TCMS students were recently chosen as a 2023 Plains Peanut Festival Postcard Contest winner. With thousands of entries from students across the state, Simeon Sturrup placed first in fifth-grade, and Lyra McLain placed first in sixth.

The yearly contest is open to students in grades K-12 throughout Georgia, with the theme this year being “Living a Legacy: Peanuts, Politics, and Peace.” Postcard designs and messages must include peanuts and either Plains, Georgia, or former President Carter. Students will be presented with the award certificates and medals on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the annual Peanut Festival, held in Plains, GA.
