Two students in Mrs. Layne's eighth-grade math class recently won 1st place for our Congressional District, 1st place in the Rural Division, and 30th place in the State while competing in the Stock Market Game. The Congressional District had 89 teams compete and the state had 3,430 teams compete.
In this competition, each team was given an investment portfolio to manage $100,000. In ten weeks, Brody Ballenger and Elijah Singletary managed to increase their portfolio to $122,456.34. Because of their achievement, They won $400 and have been invited to attend an awards ceremony on May 9, 2024, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
