The valuable, yearlong Cross Creek discount cards are on sale now through September 1. Buying a Cross Creek card has many benefits including saving money, helping to provide incentives and rewards for Cross Creek students, as well as keeping the shopping local for our generous merchants.  Selling at the same low price of $5.00 since 1994, Cross Creek cards save money throughout the year and pay for themselves after the first or second use.

The first Cross Creek cards were sold in 1994 and have continued to be an important fundraiser for Cross Creek.  Almost 30 years later, money raised over the years continues to fund many extras.

According to Cross Creek Principal Ashley Lane, past funds have helped purchase a golf cart for the school, which is used to monitor grounds and transport students, and provide an incentive for good behavior to ride with the SRO.

“The funds also help us support all academic celebrations every nine weeks including Accelerated Reader (AR) prizes and Positive Behavior incentives.  This includes our end-of-the-year celebration for students at the YMCA,” Lane said.  

The sale of the Cross Creek cards funds many other special programs and materials. Classroom items, musical instruments, art equipment and supplies, and special science activities have all enriched Cross Creek students because of money raised from Cross Creek card sales.

Assistant Principal Michael Rigdon is excited about this year’s Cross Creek Card sale.

“The students are excited to win some awesome prizes and while they may not fully understand it, they are eager to help their school,” Rigdon said. “I have many students who like to report how many cards they have sold each day.”

Lane added, “We have some great businesses on the card this year including several new businesses.  This great fundraiser assists with enhancing the education of our children in so many ways.  I feel that it is important that we include many local businesses.  They are always quick to support the schools, and we want to help drive traffic into their establishments as well. We appreciate the support from our community in purchasing these cards from our students.”
