The Salvengers, one of Thomas County Schools' First Lego League teams, competed recently in Albany, GA.  The Salvengers were made up of 4th - 6th grade students.  Students programmed and ran a robot to accomplish five missions on a challenge table.  Students have learned about using robots, iPads, programming, and problem solving.  They researched a problem in cities and presented a skit to promote the idea of using paper bags made from animal waste to cut down on paper bags in landfills.  They were also judged on teamwork and cooperation in one component of the competition.  They were given a task and had to complete it by working out a solution as a team.
