Thomas County first and second graders at Garrison-Pilcher Elementary School worked hard during the “Summer Reading Challenge.”  Rising 1st and 2nd grade students were encouraged to continue good literary habits over the summer by reading a minimum of 25 books.  During the first week of school, students presented their logs of books they read and were rewarded with an outside celebration in the school courtyard organized by Media Specialist Elexis Griffin on Friday, August 19, 2022.  

Students received an ice cream, a bag of chips, a drink, a choice of candy, and an opportunity to play outside in the courtyard while listening to music and playing with bubbles or dancing and were entered into a drawing for a gift certificate for the September Book Fair.
