Garrison Pilcher Elementary School’s vibrant Media Center is even more active than usual as the students are incentivized with “golden tickets” hidden in random books throughout the library.  Once the student finds the ticket in his or her book, the student must read the book 2-3 times and then earn a passing grade on an Accelerated Reader comprehension test. Homeroom teachers sign the ticket and indicate the AR test grade before the student presents it at the Media Center for a treat.  Media Specialist Elexis Griffin places the tickets in books that the students don't tend to check out as often, which helps to expose them to different genres of books.  Second grader Boden Reynolds is pictured with his ticket that boasts a 100% score on his test.
