TCCHS seeks participants for Groundhog Job Shadow Day

Thomas County Central High School is preparing for Groundhog Job Shadow Day and local organizers are seeking the community’s involvement.

The national event, scheduled for Feb. 2, 2016, will be a chance for students all over the country to shadow workers in a vast variety of professions. To help make the event a success on the local level, TCCHS is currently seeking businesses/industries who want to help out by allowing students to shadow their employees.

“We are looking for businesses and industries interested in helping TCCHS students make a difference in their lives by giving them a new vision for their future,” Work-Based Learning Coordinator Michelle Ausley said.

Professions anticipated to be shadowed on the day include scientists, firefighters, graphic designers, mechanics, doctors, architects, teachers, government employees, and potentially hundreds more.

For more information or to sign up to participate, contact Melissa Rodgers, TCCHS senior guidance counselor, at (229) 225-5050, ext. 168 or Michelle Ausley at (229) 225-5050, ext. 192.

The deadline to register is Jan. 15, 2016.
