It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Preparations for the annual Shop with a Yellow Jacket event are now underway at Thomas County Central High School. Better known as SWAYJ, it’s a chance for the school and, most importantly, its students to give back to the community. Teams of 4-5 TCCHS students sign up and raise $100 to take some especially deserving younger kids who attend school in the Thomas County Schools system Christmas shopping for themselves and their families at Walmart. Also, the school decorates its cafeteria in a festive theme, and groups return with their purchases to wrap them. Team sign-up ends this week. SWAYJ is Saturday, Dec. 11.
