TCCHS CFA Leader Academy raises $3,000 for local organization

CFA Academy donates $3,000 to Fountain of Life

The Thomas County Central High School Chick-fil-A Leader Academy held a dodgeball tournament at the end of the school year to raise money for a worthy cause. The dodgeball tournament has become the chapter’s annual IMPACT project, and this year they raised more than $3,000 for the Fountain of Life Rescue, a local homeless shelter.

This is the fourth year the students have chosen Fountain of Life Rescue in an effort to make a real impact on the community. Over the last four years, the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy students have raised more than $10,000 for the organization. In previous years, students also volunteered with them by helping paint the interior of the facility.

The Chick-fil-A Leader Academy curriculum not only teaches students the importance of putting service before self, but also how to become servant leaders.

Adviser Stann McLeod said, “My students never cease to amaze me with their ability to make a huge difference when they put their hearts into it. This is what motivates me to keep working with our next generation.”
