TCCHS Spirit Week

TCCHS Spirit Week

Students at Thomas County Central High School came together to show school spirit during Spirit Week.

Spirit Week, held the first week of November, consisted of several events: class hall decorating, student car painting, a car decorating contest and a pep rally.

“Spirit Week brought a lot of different students together to show their school pride,” sophomore Dakota Beever said.

Winners in each event were given a prize. These prizes consisted of Zaxby’s gift cards, Dunkin Donuts gift cards and Downtown Dollars.

Each class was given a hall to decorate for the hall decorating contest. The sophomores came out with the win. The sophomore hall was full of glitz and encouraging posters.

“Staying at the school after hours was all worth it, knowing that we didn’t let the seniors win,” sophomore Jordan Bush said.

The students also competed to see whose car had the most blue and gold. Junior Mason Lawing took first place in the contest with his very tiny blue and gold car.

“I decided to enter the competition because I wanted to win the prizes,” Lawing said.

A pep rally, held Nov. 7, was the final event of Spirit Week.

“The pep rally let the football team know that our school will always be backing us up on the field Friday night,” TCCHS quarterback Eli Taylor said.

During the pep rally two teachers were nominated to race around the gym on tricycles. The students got to be involved by throwing pies at the losing teacher.

“Seeing students show all of their school pride at the pep rally proved that Spirit Week was a success,” senior Katie Johnson said.
