Policies and Procedures

Morning Procedure:

  • Unpack supplies, get Chromebook
  • Not a time to socialize
  • Cannot go to speak to someone in another room and/or teacher from another room without my permission
  • If you are working on projects or activities for another teacher, then the teacher will need to contact me or provide you with a pass PRIOR to that day/time.

Chromebook:

  • Do not grab by screen.
  • Do not put stickers or other personal items on Chromebooks. They are hard to remove and in some sense you are defacing school property.  It is also very difficult to remove stickers, and even when the stickers are removed it is very difficult to remove the residual glue.
  • Do not remove Chromebook shell.
  • Before raising your hand about issues you are having with the Chromebook or a website, make sure to restart the Chromebook and make sure that it is connected to the correct WI-FI network.  It should be connected to the network that contains the word “chrome” in it.

Missing Assignments:

  • It is your responsibility to keep up with assignments, including which ones are missing.
  • Write down missing assignments in your agenda.
  • Mark them off once you have completed the assignment (since you don’t know when the assignment will be graded and the score updated in Infinite Campus)
  • If your assignment was not turned in on time, I cannot guarantee when the assignment will be graded and put in Infinite Campus.  Before I post grades for progress reports or report cards, I make sure to review all missing assignments.  So again, keep track that you have completed and submitted the assignment so that you and your parents know that the only thing remaining is for the assignment to be graded.

When you are finished with an assignment, ask yourself these questions:

  • Am I caught up with the rest of my work for Mr. Beck this week (readings, MEMBEAN, homework, etc)?
  • If so, am I sure that there are no missing assignments for me in Infinite Campus that need to be completed?
  • If I'm up to date with Mr. Beck's work, is there something I can work on for another class?
  • If I'm caught up with everything, what next?  Read, journal, or practice/study for another class.  Do not ask to play games or listen to music.
