Desirée Celaya grew up in metro Atlanta and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education in English Education.  Since relocating to Thomasville in 1999, she has taught English at Thomas University and reading and journalism at Thomasville City Scholars Academy.  In the fall of 2020, Celaya decided to focus on younger readers.  She truly enjoys her role as a Reading Interventionist at Garrison-Pilcher for the first grade.  Celaya strives to share her love of learning and fascination with language and communication with the children of Thomas County!
