A.R. Dot Colors and Points

Points

Every book that has an AR Reading Practice Quiz is given a point value. AR points are computed based on the difficulty of the book and the length of the book (number of words).

The majority of the books your child will bring home to read will be 0.5 AR points.

Dot Colors/Grade Levels: 

Please be aware of what color dot your child brings home to read. The color dot your child needs will be listed in your child's AR log. You may see the dots change throughout the nine weeks. 

Red Dot: 0.1- 0.9

Blue Dot: 1.0-1.9

Yellow Dot: 2.0-2.9

Green Dot: 3.0-3.9
