The easiest way to explain articulation is to say that articulation is simply producing clear, understandable speech sounds. 

For our purposes, an articulation disorder, is more than just misproducing speech sounds. The Georgia Department of Education mandates that articulation errors must cause an adverse affect on a child’s educational performance in order to be eligible for school speech impaired services.
