If you want to change the world, go into teaching;
If you want to make a difference, go into Special Education!
Welcome to my website! I'm excited about this school year!
I am an Adaptive Special Education Teacher at Thomas County Central High School, currently teaching special need students with significant cognitive disabilities in a self-contained classroom. My goal in teaching special need students is to instill in them that I care about them and that “they matter”. Everyone has a purpose in life and can learn. All people need a chance to feel valued and contribute to society. People deserve the opportunity to gain employment and achieve self-satisfaction through completion of their goals. I believe each child has the right to be educated and I try my best each day to ensure each student in my classroom has an opportunity to claim that right.
I’m an alumni of Thomas County Central. I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Valdosta State University 1994 and a Master’s of Education from Troy University in 2006.
I serve as a football coach for Thomas County Middle School and videographer for the Thomas County Central High School varsity football team on Friday nights. I also coach girls and boys varsity swimming and the Bass Fishing Team at Thomas County Central High School.
I’m a certified special needs coach for the Georgia Special Olympic in bocce, basketball, soccer, volleyball and swimming. I volunteer with Special Olympics on the local, regional and state levels.
My wife Marnie and I have been married for 30 years. We have 3 children – Gavin, who is a 7th grade math teacher at TCMS and a varsity football coach for the Yellow Jackets; Blaine, a senior at VSU currently studying early childhood education; and Jace, a junior here at TCCHS and a member of the Yellow Jackets swim and bass fishing teams.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions and concerns you may have throughout the year.
